MG Geoffrey Lambert


Geoffrey Lambert is a native of Inman, Kansas. He received a commission as a second lieutenant of infantry in May 1973.

His assignments include: Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol Platoon Leader, Company B (Ranger), 75th Infantry; Rifle Platoon Leader, CO. A, 2nd Battalion, 75th Infantry (Ranger); Detachment Commander, CO. A, 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Rifle Company Commander, 3rd Battalion, 5th Infantry; Instructor, Ranger Department; Senior LNO and Assistant Operations Officer,75th Ranger Regiment; Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Operations Officer, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne);Battalion Commander, 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Commander, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Commander, Special Operations Command, IFOR; Commander, Special Operations Command Europe; and Director for Operations, Plans and Policy, U. S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

A graduate of the U. S. Army War College, MG Lambert has also successfully completed the Special Forces Qualification Course, the Ranger Course, the Infantry Basic and Advanced courses, and the School of the Americas’ Command and General Staff College. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from McPherson College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma.

MG Lambert’s awards include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NATO Medal and the Golden Cross of Honor from the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition, he has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge and Master Parachutist Badge and the Special Forces and Ranger Tabs.
