Our Mission

Dear Fellow University of Oklahoma Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Alumnus,

The OU Army ROTC Alumni and Friends Association exists to support current Sooner Battalion cadets and staff by promoting and maintaining good relations among alumni, current cadets, ROTC program staff, and the University.

Army ROTC has been an important part of college life at the University of Oklahoma since 1917, and our Association intends to uphold that rich history and distinguished tradition. Thousands of military and community leaders, including each and every member of our Association, have started their careers through OU Army ROTC, and our gratitude compels us to give back to the program and its current cadets.

Our Association provides a way to give back, to share our tradition with current cadets, to learn what’s new in the Sooner Battalion, and to recognize current cadets and honor distinguished alumni. We organize several annual events in pursuit of these goals, such as our annual banquet and awards program, our attendance at Sooner football games, and our periodic Association meetings. We hope to promote our distinguished tradition and keep alive the legacy that is OU Army ROTC.

Today’s ROTC cadets are training to lead the Army of the future and confront many new challenges. They deserve the full support of the alumni.

Among the many ways you can help:

  • Attend the Annual Banquet.
  • Participate with Army ROTC special events such as the Bataan Memorial Death March Marathon, Army Ten-Miler, and Sooner Strong 5K.
  • Contribute to the Army ROTC Alumni Association scholarship fund.
  • Endow a cadet scholarship or award.
  • Encourage a student to apply for ROTC.
  • Nominate someone for the Hall of Fame.
  • Mentor a cadet.
  • Serve on the Board of Directors.
  • Volunteer your time or your talent in other ways.

We welcome you and welcome your ideas for making a better Association and ROTC program.
